Kerengende Foundation’s Timeline
2019 Launch of The Kerengende Foundation Expand
Amber Clayborne started Kerengende with a laptop and a vision to support families and victims of child sexual abuse and human trafficking.
2020 Awarded First Emergency Grant to Family in Need Expand
Kerengende Foundation provided emergency financial support to its first family. When the pandemic hit, we pivoted to virtual prevention workshops to provide safe learning opportunities for the community.
2021 Expanded Workshops; Opened First Office Expand
Kerengende expanded our workshops offering, grew to reach 200 individuals, and opened our first office.
2022 Started Community Outreach Events and Summer Camp Expand
Kerengende expanded to include Community Outreach events, piloted our Healthy Relationships workshops, and launched our first summer camp. We more than doubled our reach to 500 individuals.
2023 Began Direct Services for Youth Survivors Expand
We expanded Healthy Relationships workshops to schools and once again doubled to reach over 1,000 individuals. Kerengende began offering psychoeducation and direct case management services to youth survivors.
2024 Offered First Safe Touches Workshops and Nonoffending-Caregiver Support Groups Expand
Kerengende launched our Nonoffending-Caregiver Support Groups, our Safe Touches workshops in schools to provide prevention education to elementary school students, and hired our first staff in house. We tripled our reach to 3,700 individuals.
2025 Hired First Bilingual Spanish-Speaking Community Educator Expand
We hired our first Bilingual Community Educator to offer our programming to Spanish-speaking communities, more than doubled our Safe Touches programs to reach over 1,000 students, and offered our first co-ed summer camp.
2026 and beyond Continued Growth on the Horizon Expand
Kerengende is expanding programming to Missouri, and growing our in-office clinical services. We can’t wait to serve more of our community!
