Programming

For needs beyond our services, Kerengende helps cover costs for youth survivors on a case-by-case basis through our network of partner therapists, ensuring access to specialized support.

We collaborate with experts and organizations to provide specialized training on child sexual abuse and human trafficking prevention, as well as survivor support. Past topics include identifying exploited minors, addressing problematic sexual behaviors, and supporting victims.

To support parents and guardians caring for youth survivors of child sexual abuse and/or human trafficking, we offer a support group where non-offending caregivers can process trauma, build a support network, and learn strategies to prevent future abuse.

We provide emergency support on a case-by-case basis for essential needs, including rent, utilities, and clothing, to help stabilize families during times of crisis.

As a certified facilitator of the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children’s Safe Touches program, we provide evidence-based workshops to students in grades K-3. Using puppets, we teach young children how to recognize safe and unsafe touches in an age-appropriate and impactful way.

Classroom sessions use songs, stories, and trusted-adult messaging aligned with district policies.

Designed for youth grades 6-12, our workshops and six-week Healthy Relationships curriculum cover essential topics such as sexual abuse prevention, self-esteem, wellness, human trafficking, and online exploitation.

Our summer camp empowers teens to strengthen their mental health through interactive workshops and activities, building confidence, meaningful connections, and a space to share their voices and stories.

We provide case management for youth survivors of child sexual abuse and/or human trafficking at our office in Belleville. Our focus is on ensuring safety, identifying needs, and connecting clients to resources. We collaborate with partners to offer seamless, coordinated support for survivors and their families.

Kerengende Foundation is an Authorized Facilitator for Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children ® training. Stewards of Children ® is an evidence-informed, award-winning two-hour training that teaches adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Through interviews with child sexual abuse survivors, experts, and treatment providers, Stewards of Children ® teaches adults practical actions they can take to reduce instances of child sexual abuse in their organizations, families, and communities.



Stewards of Children ® is approved nationally for two hours of continuing education for nurses, social workers, dentists, and dental hygienists.
